Hi, is there a reason that the main router must be at DB box? Can't we rely on just ONT box in DB and main router in living room etc?

Yes that's fine! due to the small size of BTOs nowadays (~90sqm for 4-room flat) and the proximity between the living room and the DB box, the difference is marginal. i conducted a speed test and the difference is about 30MB/s slower than having a nearer placement e.g. living room downloading at 300MB/s, while it's better hidden/more aesthetic. The speed difference is insignificant to all my use cases so that's why this approach was decided upon. Feel free to place at anywhere else especially if your house is bigger!

Hi thanks for replying! Id also like to add, if I do place a main router in my living room, and then wanted to place a second router in a bedroom via wired backhaul, i technically need an additional data point that links from the livng rm to said bedroom right? Im assuming the individual ethernet points in a new bto only connect back to DB but not each other. Yeah the depth of my DB is quite small and the router i wanna use is Starhub's TP LINK EB810V which is a thick and tall boi lol.
